The diesel particulate filter is getting full of soot and needs to regenerate.
ColourAmber
UrgencyModerate
Can I keep driving? Drivable with care. Diagnose soon: performance, economy or other components can be affected.
What to do
- Drive for 15–20 minutes at a steady speed above roughly 60 km/h (40 mph) if conditions allow, so the filter can regenerate.
- If the light stays on or reduced power appears, have it checked before the filter blocks completely.
Symbols and colours vary between manufacturers. Your owner's manual shows the exact symbols used in your car. In general, red means stop or act now, amber/yellow means check soon, and green/blue lights are information only.
