Set pressures cold, using the figures on the door-jamb placard or fuel flap, not the maximum printed on the tire sidewall. Pressure rises by roughly 0.1 bar (1–2 PSI) for every 10 °C of temperature change, so tires checked after a drive read higher: never let air out of hot tires to reach the cold figure.
