Formula

Displacement per cylinder = π ÷ 4 × bore² × stroke. Multiply by the number of cylinders for total engine displacement. Compression ratio = (swept volume + clearance volume) ÷ clearance volume, where clearance volume is the combustion chamber plus gasket, deck and piston dish volume for one cylinder.
