Tools

  • Tire pressure gauge
  • Air compressor or garage air line

Step by step

  1. Check when the tires are cold, before driving or after the car has stood for a few hours.
  2. Find the recommended pressures on the door-jamb placard, fuel flap or owner's manual. Do not use the maximum printed on the tire.
  3. Remove the valve cap and press the gauge firmly onto the valve.
  4. Add air in short bursts, or release air by pressing the valve core, until the pressure matches.
  5. Refit the valve caps. Check the spare too.
  6. If the car has TPMS, some systems need a reset after adjusting pressures.
